The comprehensive capacity enhancement project for 270000 tons of potatoes in Qinghai Province has started construction in mutual aid

On September 18th, the construction project to enhance the comprehensive processing capacity of 270000 tons of potatoes by Weisiton Potato Industry Company of Sanjiang Group in Qinghai Province officially started in Huzhu Tu Autonomous County, Haidong City. The project is planned to invest 362 million yuan and be completed and put into operation by 2025. The project will build a 30000 ton potato starch production line, and further enhance the deep processing level of potatoes in Qinghai by introducing internationally leading potato starch processing and extraction technology.

The 270000 ton potato comprehensive capacity enhancement construction project is not only an important project to adhere to ecological priority and green development, promote the transformation and upgrading of the potato industry, but also a key project to implement the major requirements of the provincial party committee and government to build the "four regions" of the industry and comprehensively create a green organic agricultural and livestock product export area. After the project is completed and put into operation, it will effectively solve the problems of poor potato sales channels and insufficient processing capacity in the province, further drive more than 200000 potato growers in 12 counties (districts) such as Haidong and Xining to increase income, comprehensively promote the improvement of the quality and efficiency of the entire potato industry chain, and use "small potatoes" to drive "big industries". It is reported that after the completion of the project, the annual production of refined starch can reach 40000 tons, and the national market share of potato refined starch will increase from the current 1% to 10%. The smooth implementation of this project in Huzhu County plays a significant role in extending the local potato industry chain and achieving the development of the entire potato industry chain. It is also an important measure to accelerate the development of Huzhu's "local specialty" industry and promote the comprehensive revitalization of rural areas. The project will drive the development of the local food processing industry through integrated production, processing, and sales channels, forming a one-stop production pattern of production, processing, and sales, ensuring the sustainable and healthy development of the local food processing industry, further accelerating the pace of mutual aid agricultural industrialization development, optimizing the agricultural industry structure, and having important significance for achieving industrial development, enterprise efficiency improvement, and farmers' income increase.
