Situation and Analysis of Guangxi Cassava Starch Spot Market (10.14)

Last week (October 6-12), in terms of domestic flour, due to factors such as lower than expected market demand after the holiday and continuous decline in imported flour, the domestic cassava starch market showed a fluctuating downward trend, with the average price closing slightly lower. According to the market sampling survey and data from the "Starch World" website, last week, the domestic powder prices (ex factory price, including tax) in Guangxi were: 4120-4220 yuan/ton for low-end products (a decrease of 50 yuan/ton compared to the previous week, with a discussion space of 30 yuan/ton between the quotation and actual transactions), 4220-4320 yuan/ton for ordinary products (a decrease of 50 yuan/ton compared to the previous week, with a discussion space of about 0 yuan/ton between the quotation and actual transactions), and 4320-4420 yuan/ton for high-quality products (a decrease of 50 yuan/ton compared to the previous week, with a discussion space of about 50 yuan/ton between the quotation and actual transactions); In terms of Pingxiang Zhengmao, due to factors such as the continuous increase in starch production in Vietnam and lower than expected demand after the holiday, the clearance volume of cassava starch in Pingxiang Zhengmao has increased significantly, and the price has closed slightly lower on a weekly basis. According to the market sampling survey and data from "Starch World" website, last week, the clearance volume of Vietnamese starch for Guangxi Pingxiang Zhengmao was 350-450 tons/day (+200), and the average price of ordinary products (mid-range brands) decreased by -45 yuan/ton compared to the previous week.

This week (October 13-19), stimulated and affected by the continuous increase in starch production in Vietnam, the clearance volume of regular trade cassava starch in Guangxi will continue to rise. In this regard, we believe that the overall market situation of cassava starch in Guangxi this week will show a fluctuating downward trend, among which the prices of domestic flour and Pingxiang regular trade imported flour may still close with a slight decline.
