Latest (12.11) Production and Market Situation of Cassava and Starch in Vietnam
Last week, first of all, in terms of production, as of December 10th, there were about 111 starch factories in operation (week on week+8), and starch production continued to increase significantly on a week on week basis. The supply of raw materials has maintained an increasing trend compared to the previous week, while potato prices have remained stable with some decline; At present, the average production time per week in starch factories is 6.5 days (+0.1 days compared to last week); The purchase prices for fresh potato raw materials are as follows: 2720-2820 VND/kg in the southern region (30 VND/KG compared to last week, with a 30% reduction in flour content), 2530-2630 VND/kg in the central region (20 VND/KG compared to last week, with a 30% reduction in flour content), and 2200-2300 VND/kg in the northern region (0 VND/KG compared to last week, with a 30% reduction in flour content). Secondly, in terms of the market, due to factors such as the continued increase in starch production and difficulties in sales, the export market of cassava starch in Vietnam has maintained a fluctuating downward trend, with prices still reporting a significant decline. The latest quotes for mainstream brands are (Qingdao Port CIF): low-end products 350-360 (-20), ordinary products 370-380 (-20), and high-quality products 390-400 (-20) (USD/ton).
