今年六月，韩国EN3绿色能源公司在南苏拉威岛使用木薯作为原料生产生物乙醇的项目在印度尼西亚首都雅加达获得通过。
此前，EN3公司已经在印尼投资了超过一亿三千万美元，用于木薯的种植及加工。他们将木薯加工成木薯干片以及木薯淀粉，所生产的这些产品主要出口到日本等国家。
原料不足是当前生物乙醇生产中面临的最大问题，预计在两至三年内，这个问题就会得到基本解决。届时，EN3公司每年将会消耗超过36万吨的木薯并生产出约60000千升的生物乙醇。
