据泰国《世界日报》11月30日报道，泰国商会副秘书长蓬信预测，2011年泰农产品[20.19 -1.03%]价格也许上涨达10％，包括大米、木薯、饲料原料、豆类、棕榈果及橡胶，主要来自三方面的因素，包括为全球气候变化、国际原油价格上涨以及替代能源使用量增加。
气候变化的因素难于控制，由于连续发生自然灾害，包括水灾及旱灾，难于规定农产品生产数量，农产品也许会遭受损失，使产量减少及价格上涨。
虽然泰国的种植面积大，但缺乏策划及防备水灾的措施。
2011年国际油价上涨，将对农产品生产成本带来影响，预测2011年原油价格将从2010年底每桶90美元上涨至超过100美元，由于国际大型燃油生产集团也许会再调增价格。
受到油价上涨的影响，全球转向增加生产替代能源，尤其是使用农作物作生产原料，可能出现替代能源生产厂商与饲料厂商争夺原料的问题。
另一方面，目前部分农作物的生产量低于需求，例如棕榈果、木薯及豆类，需求量将持续增加至少3-4年。
