3月21日，酉阳大溪镇石堤村村民喜迎“豫薯王”落户该村，60亩“豫薯王”试验基地为村民带来了致富的新希望。
“豫薯王”是该镇最近从河南引进的红薯新品种。豫薯王具有投入少、产量高、淀粉含量高、经济价值高等特点，可以加工成各种薯类制品，也可以提炼淀粉，还可以加工成酒精，其工业用途广泛，极具开发价值。该品种每亩仅需投入200元，产量可以达到8000—12000斤，淀粉含量在35%以上，经济价值在1200元以上，是调整农村产业结构，促进农民增收的理想品种。
该镇“豫薯王”试验基地建设将采取公司+农户的方式，按照公司主体、市场主导、政府引导、农民自愿的原则进行推广种植。
