又是木薯收获时节收获。昨天下午，笔者在雷州市雷高镇一木薯收购点看到：收购、过磅、付款、装车……一片繁忙的景象，一辆辆大卡车正满载着木薯，陆续运往外地。
在雷高车站东边，雷高镇山前村一位吴姓的薯农高兴地告诉笔者：“现时正是木薯收获时节，收购价格相当不错，不少的收购商纷纷来到这里收购。”笔者了解到，雷高镇山前村人口1700人，8个生产队，共有耕地面积800多亩。近年来，随着木薯市场价格的看好，村民普遍种植了土壤适应性强、耐旱耐瘠的木薯。木薯成本低，又好管理。该村今年就扩种木薯达200多亩，每亩产量达2—5吨，按木薯现时收购价每吨260—300元计算，全村仅木薯一项收益就可达20万元。
