近段时间，在藤县和平镇的20多家收购店铺前，挤满了从四面八方运送粉葛的农民，收购人员忙着过秤、计数付款、包装、装车外运，每日外销量达200多吨，产品远销上海、港澳地区以及日本、新加坡、泰国等国家。和平镇地处屯江河边，土壤肥沃，适宜种植薯类及块茎类作物，当地农民历来有种植粉葛的传统，所产的粉葛淀粉含量高、无渣、皮薄质嫩，很受客商欢迎。
近年来，和平镇为了增加收入，积极引导农民调整农作物结构，推广间种套种立体种植，派出农业技术人员，深入田间地头，指导农民科学种植和运用病虫害综合防治技术。根据粉葛与香芋茎块在田间一深一浅不争土层，叶子一高一低不争空间，香芋与生姜一阴一阳不争阳光的生长特点，实施在一垄地里同时间种、套种。同时，与区农科院合作进行脱毒组培苗试种并在全镇推广，使单位面积产量大大提高，品质也更上一层楼。去年，该镇志成、平竹、屯江等村成了粉葛种植专业村，亩产收入上万元。全镇种植粉葛面积达2000多公顷，亩产3000多公斤。
