日前，湖北荆门石化10万吨/年燃料乙醇项目环境影响报告书获得国家环保部批准。
该项目由荆门石化和湖北金龙泉集团公司合股投资42,339万元，工程占地约247亩。主要建设内容包括薯干及鲜薯加工车间、原料粉碎车间、液化和糖化车间、发酵车间、蒸馏车间等主要生产车间，液体二氧化碳回收利用车间和肥料车间，同时配套建设3,500立方米/天污水处理站等辅助及公用工程。该项目采用鲜红薯和薯干为主要原料，年产燃料乙醇10万吨、肥料7.2万吨和液体二氧化碳5万吨。
燃料乙醇已被国家发改委确定为中国汽车燃料工业发展方向。该项目符合国家产业政策和清洁生产要求。项目建成后，荆门石化将向新能源产业发展迈出重要一步，同时在加快地方农业产业化进程、解决就业、增加农民收入等方面起到积极作用。
