甘肃省渭源县坚持以市场为导向，以项目为依托，以科技为支撑，大力实施马铃薯良种工程，为促进种薯产业上台阶、上水平奠定了良好的基础。
今年以来，渭源县以建设全国最大的高淀粉型马铃薯良种繁育基地为目标，不断拓宽投资融资渠道，先后争取省农业发展银行贷款900万元，整合财政资金560万元用于良种工程建设。县里认真落实行政、技术“双轨”承包责任制，四大班子领导带头抓点包片，并从农业部门抽调40名专业技术人员负责原种生产网棚建设。农业部门狠抓科技培训，推广订单种植，采取“公司（协会、合作社）+基地+农户”的模式，积极为农户提供产前、产中、产后全方位服务。目前，全县共建成一级良种生产基地1万亩，二级良种生产基地10万亩，马铃薯种植面积达到36万亩。
